RAD Behaviors Identify the Type of Attachment Dysfunction


Attachment Disorder Disorganized Attachment
Common symptoms:  stealing, lying, destruction and pushing parental caretakers buttons.
Child has experienced early caretaking of a parent.
History of eary neglect, abuse or change in careprovider.
Co-dependency is found in one or more of the parent -child relationships.
Child is overly needy or avoids having a relationship with parental figures.
Child often opposes or tantrums in transitions.
Often charms or looks normal to those outside the family home.
Child will often have big reactions to small change or interactions.
Emotionally in control by getting family members around them frustrated. When emotions become active, easily out of control.
May act older than age at times.
May act younger than age at times.
Discipline often causes no reaction, but may cause a reaction for those clingy type attachment disorders.
Discipline often causes a strong reaction.
